They are the proud custodians of some of the finest vineyards in the area including Monvigliero which is considered the Grand Cru of Verduno. Bel Colle also are famous for producing Pelaverga which is a vibrant, light on its feet red that is a specialty of Verduno that is rare and delicious.

About this wine from the winery: This vine is a found all over the Roero but also on the hills on the right bank of the Tanaro. It is extremely vigorous, with strong, straight shoots. Fertile and productive, the grapes ripen in late September. The bunch is medium to small in size, with a pyramid or cylindrical shape with one or two obvious wings.

Vinification with skin contact for 36 hours at low temperature (5 °C) followed by a classic white vinification. 15 days in steel tansk at low temperature. 6 months on its own yeasts. Smooth with fruit and flower notes with good acidity, ideal as aperitif or with fish.” 13% alc

90 points, Bacchus Magazine, May 2025 They call it “the white Barolo.” Nothing less. Roero Arneis, a DOCG appellation from Piedmont, on the left bank of the Tanaro, long overshadowed by its red cousins, is back in the spotlight. A capricious grape variety, Arneis—which means “little troublemaker” in the local dialect—has finally found its home: the sandy hills of Roero, where it gives its best. On the nose, it reveals aromas of crisp Williams pear, green apple, white flowers, fennel, and that hint of sweet almond that characterizes Arneis. On the palate, the attack is frank and chiseled, with taut but well-integrated acidity. The wine glides, unfurls, but doesn’t fade. It settles, clean, precise, almost saline. The finish is of lemon peel, apricot, and a hint of fresh grass. It’s dry, straightforward, and unadorned—but with style. In short, a characterful, lively, and charming white wine that rivals the great entry-level Burgundies. No oak or pretension.”

Made in minute quantities, this undergoes skin-contact fermentation to amplify its textural complexity and aromatic intrigue. Delicious!
