Description
John and Eithne Lagan planted their first vines in 1977 in what is now considered one of the oldest vineyards in Margaret River. Xanadu now has a long history of producing wines of distinction, accolades and a reputation as one of the finest wineries in the region.
100% of the fruit for this Reserve Chardonnay is from their oldest Chardonnay vineyard, the Lagan Estate … small berries and tiny bunches from these mature, low yielding vines contributes to the intensity of the wine.
This is top shelf chardonnay with exquisite finesse, balance and power.

97 points “… intensity and utterly exceptional length. There is a seamless union between the pink grapefruit and white peach fruit, quality French oak and supporting acidity. “ James Halliday, Winecompanion.com.au
95 points “ ..The new era of Xanadu chardonnay is one of restrained, tightly coiled focus, driven by taut natural acidity rather than malolactic fermentation, with less oak and greater mineral texture. Reserve manages to exemplify all of this, while upholding the power of the Gin Gin chardonnay clone in Margaret River. Grapefruit and white peach flavours meet almond meal oak nuances, streaming into a long finish of mineral texture. “ Tyson Steltzer. RRP $90
