Voted in Ten of the Best New Wineries in James Halliday’s 2017 Australian Wine Companion.
Established in 2005 by winemaker Aldo Bratovic (had decades working with Brian Croser at Petaluma) and the Jebsen family, wine importer in Hong Kong and now China. This small boutique vineyard is located in the beautiful sub region of Wilyabrup in WA’s Margaret River. After 10 years of dedication and hard work it has become one of the rising stars of the region.
About this wine from the winemaker: “Bright pale green with slight golden tinges. Melon fig and dominate, with some secondary characters derived from less contact and barrel maturation showing through. The palate is complex but restrained. It shows fresh flavours, with a combination of primary fruit. The flavour remains long on the palate with acidity and minerality, complementing the finish.”
This is always an impressive Margaret River Chardonnay especially for the price! Lovely depth of fruit, a lick of robust French oak (50% new Chateau Ferre) and gorgeous balance. Not surprised to hear rumour that the fruit here, all the Mendoza clone, hails from Leeuwin! Pedigree here and we love the modest price. Enjoy.. this is a real crowd pleaser.
93 points, James Suckling “Richer style for this wine with cooked apple, pie crust, yogurt and lemon curd. Opulent is a word that comes to mind. Full-bodied with a round texture and lots of flavor. Goes on for minutes. Drink now. Screw cap.”
