Freya was the foremost legendary Goddess of ancient Germanic lands where the Riesling grape originated. This single vineyard wine honours early German settlers who cultivated the Riesling vine in the exemplary micro-climate of South Australia’s Eden Valley.
About this wine from the winemakers “The 2026 vintage – Healthy vines and average crop levels ripened with intense flavours and perfect natural acidity. Our 3 mature Eden Valley Riesling vineyards were sourced for the 2026 Freya – Cranes Range vineyard, 45+ years old – Situated in the cooler Craneford sub-region of Eden Valley; Petney vineyard, 27+ years old – Situated in the higher altitude High Eden defined subregion and Roesler vineyard, 60+ years old – Situated in the cooler Craneford sub-region, in a small valley immediately to the west of the Eden Valley township. These vineyards were all hand-harvested in the cool of the morning across 6 different picking dates between 5th March – 23rd March 2026
The fruit from each Riesling block was kept separate and chilled to 6C, prior to being whole-bunch pressed with only the finest free-run juice retained. The juice was cold settled for 7 days before being racked clear to begin fermentation. Fermented cool between 12-14°C for 2 weeks and then left for 3 months on yeast lees to build palate texture. The individual parcels were then blended and naturally stabilised before being bottled in early July 2026. 11.5% alc.
Intense floral lemon blossom aromas lead to delicate citrus characters seamlessly backed with attractive spice notes. A long fine palate profile is well balanced with mid-palate flesh and zesty acidity typical of great dry Eden Valley Rieslings.

It’s a dry, limey singularity, impressively focused with a stony, composed air as it sails true on the palate. All the things you’d expect from an Eden Valley riesling are here: those Christmas lily and citrus blossom top notes, a splosh of Bickford’s lime cordial, that umami that presents like the slow ache of a flake of sea salt melting on the tongue, the freshly squeezed lime juice and the surprising rate it disappears from the glass. It’s great, refreshing drinking – of that there is no doubt.”
