Description

Fuit sourced from two low yielding unirrigated 45 and 90 yr old vineyards in Barossa’s Gommersal &  Ebenezer district.

Smokey and tarry notes complement the rich black fruits with hint of aniseed. Full bodied with round opulent flavours of ripe blackberries and plums. The finish is long and luscious with beautifully balanced tannin, acidity and oak (24 mths in French oak). Barossa shiraz from terrific vintage  of 2010 ( long season with no adverse weather).  a couple of years bottle age or cellar for up to 8 years. Decanting this wine is a must!

96 points James Halliday “Bright crimson-purple; the aromatic spice and berry-filled bouquet leads into a medium-bodied palate where finely detailed dark cherry and plum fruit coalesces seamlessly with fine, ripe tannins and high quality oak.”
95 points Tyson Stelzer “Meet one of the most distinguished Alberts yet, with a personality of depth and strength, yet lacking nothing in grace and charm …”
93+ Gary Walsh, The Wine Front … Blue and black fruit, peppermint and creamy nougat oak. Ripe, but only just nudging full bodied, with a smooth and even palate, good acid balance, fine tannin, and a long sweetly fruited finish. Has some finesse – not clunky – a lively finer style. Sure to cellar very well too.”
