Description
Considered to be a benchmark producer in the region, Tiefenbrunner was founded in 1848 and their range of wines including Chardonnay, Muller Thurgau, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc continue to delight wine-lovers throughout the world. Their vineyards lie on the steep slopes of the region, one in particular, the Feldmarschell von Fenner Muller Thurgau is at 1000 metres above sea-level, and is trellised with the local pergola and wine frame methods. The winery is located in Entiklar, a hamlet of Kurtatsch and the estate consistently wins many awards in Italy’s most famous wine guide, the “Gambero Rosso”.
This Pinot Gris is pale yellow to sandy in color and subtle in its bouquet, with fruity notes of pears and candied fruits. The eloquent, harmonious body emphasizes its dry, full-bodied taste and round finish. Ripe stone fruits, with thirst quenching core of pristine citrus acidity (you can taste the alpine freshness of the spectacular mountains of Alto Adige). Great intensity of fruit, balance and texture. Alc 13.5 %
This is delicious and latest vintage into our cellar from a classic vintage in Alto Adige – crisp minerality, depth of fruit and mouthwatering freshness.
Review for 2021 “A juicy, light-bodied white, with a pretty overtone of floral and spice notes accenting nectarine, stone and blood orange flavors.” The Wine Advocate
