Description
We are avid fans of Kym Teusner’s Barossa wines .. he has all bases covered from his impressive Rhone inspired reds to his delicious bubbly. After cutting his teeth for years at Torbreck and Rolf Binder, his recipe is simple – it’s all about the ingredients! Top notch fruit from low yielding non-irrigated old Barossa vines with minimal winemaking intervention.
The 2011 vintage and moist conditions perfectly suited making a luscious and vibrant desert wine from a favoured riesling block ( planted to the Stornton clone that naturally retains its acidity) in the High Eden Valley.
Its mineral-laden and lime acid combined with unctuous botrytis characters to give us a rich, opulent dessert wine that is fresh as a daisy with great drive and vitality on the palate. Yum!
Tyson Stelzer … “Kym Teusner is one of the Barossa’s most talented new generation red winemakers, but it was not until Phil Lehmann joined his team that his white wines ascended to the same repute. This is their first sticky, and – wow – what a start! Pristine and fruit-filled, this is a lively, medium-weight style with allusions of frangipane, wild honey, kaffir lime, pink grapefruit zest, succulent peach and captivating notes of pepper and quince. Honeyed sweetness is pulled into a crisp, clean finish, thanks to cool vintage acidity.”
