Description
Patrizia Felluga has wine in her blood …. Her father Marco Felluga has been making quality white wine in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia in the north east of Italia for decades (family has been winemaking for more than 120 years).
In 2001 Patrizia left the family business and bought her own 30 acre vineyard in the heart of Collio… It was named Zuani after the old geographic name found on an ancient map of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The estate is set in the hills of Giasbana in the municipality of San Fioriano del Collio. Steep vines are planted on mineral rich, infertile soils of marl & sandstone. She has vineyards 15 to 30 year old vines and makes premium white wines typical of the region with her son Antonio and daughter Caterina.
Collio DOC is a beautiful area in the North East of Italy famed for the indigenous Pinot Grigio and Friulano (It borders Slovenia in the East and Italy’s Friuli Grave in the West). Perfect site with marl and sandstone soils and perfect ripening conditions for growing the native Pinot Grigio with warm summer days and cool evenings with breezes from the Adriatic sea in the South and the Alps in the North (a high diurnal range is perfect for the grapes).
Brimming with concentration and depth of spiced green apple, pear fruit balanced by lip smacking refreshing citrus zest and lime. Viva Italia… Bring out the antipasto!
