About the wine from the winemakers: “Our Classic MERUS wines embody their Latin name, which means “pure and genuine”. These wines are known for their varietal character and natural elegance. Fermented in steel and concrete barrels, the wines are bottled while young and authentic. The result: open, fresh, and approachable wines that are easy to drink.
This wine has a youthful freshness and elegance, with a luminous pale yellow colour and flowery, fine and fruity notes of apple and tropical fruits. A pleasant, fresh acidity accompanies this minerally wine with its beautiful, harmonious finish.
100% Pinot Blanc. Grown in chalk gravel moraine soil in Cortaccia, and sandy alluvial soil in Magrè. Fermented for 10 days in concrete vats is followed by a four-month aging of the assemblage on the fine lees prior to bottling.
91 points, Wine Spectator “A sleek, mouthwatering white, with a zesty thread of grapefruit peel and milled white pepper lacing the crunchy pear, melon rind and blanched almond notes. Minerally finish.”
