Description
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Great Dividing Range in the Grampians region of Victoria Mount Langi Ghiran is undoubtably one of Australia’s greatest shiraz producers and consistently rated 5 Red Stars by James Halliday. Mount Langi Ghiran is one of the most isolated and unique vineyards in Australia. The cool climate, granite soils and historic vines combine to produce wines of distinction.
Mount Langi Ghiran was one of the first wineries to plant Pinot Grigio in this country back in the early ’90s.
About this wine from the winery “Our classic Billi Billi Pinot Gris captures the intense flavour profile and acid structure that is reflective of our cool climate. The result is an aromatic wine, with a varietal core, textural depth and fine acidity.”
“Clear, pale, straw with a golden hue. White nectarines and peaches, green pear and citrus splashes. Stone fruits and melon, this is a floral and delicate wine with plenty of balance and texture.”
Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front “This is a flavoursome little number, chubby you might say, with peach and pear characters leading towards spiced apple notes. It’s a little bit short through the finish, or at least not-long, but the mid-palate is generous and tasty, and at the price you’d have to say that it’s a pretty neat package.”
