1994 Vintage Description. A mild summer led to a slow and late start to the 1994 vintage. Temperatures in March were mild to high, which had an effect, causing everything to ripen at once. The fruit quality however, was fantastic, with below average yields and exceptional colours, flavours and acid balance in the reds. The 1994 vintage was one of the best years on record. Henschke rated this vintage “Exceptional” and optimum drinking 25+ years on release.
94 points, Huon Hooke “Typical raspberry jam and mint Henschke Eden Valley fragrance. Very powerful, but seems to have rather high alcohol, with attendant sweet and syrupy texture. A delicious and hedonistic wine … “
