Description
The Combier family’s Rhone Valley origins date back to 1936 – the year Laurent’s grandfather Camille arrived from the Ardèche and bought a property with 3 hectares under vine and a 4 hectare apricot grove in the village of La Roche de Glun. Then in 1970 during a difficult economic period for vintners, they decided to heavily invest in fruit growing. The property recently celebrated its 40th year of organic growing in Crozes-Hermitage. 25 hectares of vines extend across the estate, chiefly represented by Le Clos des Grives, and alongside a 25 hectare fruit grove. According to Laurent Combier a great wine is when the fruit entirely respects an area’s terroir – balanced quality grapes are required to make wines that are harmonious, deep, fresh, and refined.
Domaine Combier recently celebrated its 40th year of organic growing, making it one of the most experienced producers of organic wines in the area. All the wines produced by Laurent Combier are made for certified organic grapes grown on the 25 hectares of the estate.
This medium bodied syrah with pretty fragrance, freshness and balance offers excellent drinking.
