Description
Pulenta are a pioneering wine family of 3 generations working in Mendoza, Argentina (previous owners of internationally renowned Trapiche) with an intimate knowledge and understanding of their vineyards. Their wines have received high praise internationally including from Robert Parker.
All estate grown fruit handpicked and sourced from Alto Agrello and Lujan de Cuyo in Mendoza. Pre-ferment cold maceration to extract colour and tannin. 6 Months maturation on old French oak. Concentrated aroma of red and black fruits with a whiff of floral lift balanced by spicy savoury tobacco characters on the palate. An exceptional growing season in 2918 has produced the goods. This is a winner for quality and value. Viva Argentina!
From the winery: “Royal purple, with expressive mature red fruits, subtle floral notes and hints of vanilla from the oak aging. Round on the palate, with a good structure and ripe tannins, making the wine complex and memorable.”
90 points, Tim Atkin MW, The 2019 Argentina Report “The Pulentas use fruit from both Los Arboles and Agrelo (sub-regions) to make this super reliable Malbec. Aged in older oak and stainless steel to emphasise it’s floral, easy-drinking flavours”.
