Description
This is Margaret River red at it’s best! A blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot with a splash of cab frac and malbec. Cascading flavours of blackcurrant, mulberries, plum, black olives. Plenty of spice and depth after 12 mths maturing in French oak. 2010 was another terrific vintage in Margaret River. Bargain for quality and value.
91 points Nick Stock, Good Wine Guide … “A bargain red blend that offers up a convincing regional mix of leaves, cassis and cherry fruit aromas. The palate has fine, bright and ripe nutty tannins that carry blackcurrant smoothly along. Handy freshness and balance.”
91 points James Hallliday … “A 72/21% primary blend, the remainder cabernet franc, malbec and shiraz, 45% estate-grown, the rest from a long-term grower. An extended fermentation was followed by four months in a French oak (15% new); the bright crimson-purple colour announces a fresh, medium-bodied palate with a bright mix of red and black fruits supported by dusty tannins. 14% alc.”
