The Other Wine Co. wines are entirely vinified and bottled by legendary winemakers Shaw + Smith in the Adelaide Hills. The wines are “other” partly because they give the winemakers a chance to lay with varieties and regions that don’t fit into Shaw + Smith. They are also an “other” perspective from so many wines that favour over-ripeness and oak instead of freshness and balance, and power over drinkability. These are made to drink and enjoy. That’s it!

From Winemaker Adam Wadewitz .. “When we started thinking about The Other Wine Co. it was about the sort of wines that we like to drink when we’re out ordering a glass. One of the things you want is the right variety in the right place, first of all to tick that box, and the next is all about drinkability, about having something that’s really delicious and something that’s not going to be dominated by oak or alcohol or extraction.”

About this wine from the winemakers: 100% Pinot Gris grown on shallow loams, ironstone, quartz. Fermented on solids – part foudres, part old oak, part stainless / Rested on lees for 4 months / Blended and bottled August 2025. Aromas of orange blossom, lychee, white pepper. Fiine and finessed showing delicate florals. The palate is light, yet flavourful with crisp apple and citrus notes and a long finish.

91 points, Shanteh Wale, The Wine Front “A zesty wine with notes of nashi pear, Jazz apple and fresh quinces. A hint of loquat and yellow melon. Lemon skin citrus and leisurely flow to the acidity. It’s laden with pear nectar fruit weight and a note of ginger jellies. A touch of white tea tannins and grip on the finish that adds an element of mealiness. A wine for silky chawanmushi custard or sauteed oyster mushrooms.”
