100% Sangiovese grown in the Tuscan appellation sub-regions of Siena, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia and Arezzo on calcareous, clay soils. The excellent growing season of 2016 produced high quality ripe fruit harvested late September that underwent pre-fermentation maceration on skins to extract colour followed by fermentation in tank. Sangiovese translates form Italian as the ‘blood of Jupiter’, the roman god of the heavens… it is a variety that retains good levels of acidity to refresh and no doubt it is a heavenly drop!
Intensely vinous showing fragrant notes of violets, vibrant juicy blood plum fruit and refreshing acidity. Enjoy this dangerously quaffable, vibrant vino rosso now… its light & delicious with anti pasto or a hearty pasta.
