We invite you to join us in Sydney for a very special tasting on Thursday 28th August 2014. Explore two very diverse wine ranges and meet winemakers, Nick Spencer from Eden Road Wines from the Canberra district and legendary winemaker Brian Croser from Tapanappa Wines in South Australia.
Both these winemakers share an obsession with terroir .. selecting distinguished sites, matching climate, soil and geology to the right varieties and fastidiously managing their vineyards to maximise quality.
The Canberra district is home to some of Australia’s most exciting cool climate wineries and without a doubt Eden Road is proof of this. Scoring Australia’s most coveted red winemaking award, the Jimmy Watson Trophy for their very first vintage of Long Road Shiraz in 2008, further success and accolades followed including Halliday’s 5 star winery rating and Best New Winery in the SMH Wine Guide. Located just south of Murrumbateman – the heart of the Canberra wine district, Eden Road also have vineyards in Gundagai, Tumbarumba and the Hilltops region. Their shiraz, chardonnays and rieslings are striking, beautiful and pure expressions of the ancient soils of Australia’s High Country.
Brian Croser really needs no introduction. Having founded the iconic winery Petaluma in the 70’s, Brian is recognised as Australia’s leading exponent of terroir driven wines. He has been awarded the Order of Australia, Decanter Wine Magazine ‘Man of the Year’ and many other accolades for his life long contribution and service to the Australian wine industry. Having sold Petaluma in 2001, the Croser family, along with their business partners the Bollinger Champagne family set up Tapanappa Wines on some of the countries most distinguised vineyard sites; 30 year old Tiers Vineyard, Piccadilly Valley, Adelaide Hills; 35 year old Whalebone Cabernet/Shiraz vineyard in Wrattonbully and pioneering Foggy Hill Pinot Noir Vineyard on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. We are excited and privileged to have Brian here to pour his fine wines and impart his knowledge.
This is an event not to be missed!
Please join us for a stand up tasting at The Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, in Sydney’s CBD from 6.30 pm on Thursday 28th August. Tickets are limited and available for $35 per person.
