Teusner The Independent Shiraz Mataro 2009 – 92 points from Winefront.

Teusner The Independent Shiraz Mataro 2009 continues to impress.  Here’s a recent review from Gary Walsh of Winefront:  “Won a gold medal at the 2010 Barossa Show. It’s a blend of Shiraz and Mataro in equal parts. Earthy dark fruit, liquorice and a little spice. It’s smooth and flavoursome, not that far above medium bodied, with more earthy Mataro flavours coming through on the finish. Has clean acidity, excellent balance and drinks really well (given some air). The finish looked lacking on the first day’s tasting, but stretched out on subsequent days. Has a lot of character and interest, though it obviously needs some more time to settle down. Fine value. Rated : 92+ Drink : 2012 – 2018 Gary Walsh, Winefront
