Description
The Monte Tondo vineyard can be found nestling in the gentle hills of Soave just a few kilometres from Verona on a slope overlooking the valley. Today it is 4th generation brother and sister team, Luca and Marta Magnabosco, who carry on their family’s passion for the land and its wines.
Twenty-five hectares of vineyards are situated on the best plots that the Soave zone can offer on predominately volcanic soils: Monte Tenda, Monte Foscarino and Monte Tondo. The wines produced, from 100% Garganaga, are intensely perfumed with an unmistakable Soave character somewhere between florals and fruitiness.
Another great growing season in Soave in 2021 which produced rich quality fruit with lifted floral aromatics and good acid freshness. 100% Garganega, all hand-picked. Brimming with citrus fruits, floral bouquet laced with scents of exotic fruit, almonds, hazelnuts and mineral aromas; full-bodied with a long finish; balanced and harmonious on the palate; improves with ageing; depth of fruit and impeccable balance.
Winning quality and value Soave classico!
Review for 2020 91 Points, James Suckling “Very floral nose with hints of ripe red peach and blanched almond. More peachy on the palate with an orange tinge, too. Medium-bodied, fresh and fruity. Vegan. Drink now.” jamessuckling.com, 7 July, 2021
“Vey pale straw. Refined but slightly subdued aromas and flavors of yellow fruits, herbs and spices. Fresh, luscious and long, with delicate honeyed nuances to the crisp orchard fruit notes that linger nicely on the slightly chunky and savory finish. Spent four months on the lees. 100% Garganega..” Ian D’Agata, Vinous Media, July 2019
