Description

Corymbia is the deep-rooted, far-sighted vision of husband-and wife-team, Rob and Genevieve Mann. The Mann name is synonymous with Western Australia’s Swan Valley, where Rob’s pioneering grandfather Jack worked a remarkable 51 consecutive vintages for Houghton. Rob was just a boy when he joined his father – former Australian test cricketer Tony – in planting the vines on what is now the dry-grown, organically farmed Corymbia vineyard.

After building an exceptional reputation in their own right, the couple kicked off their homecoming dream, Corymbia, with the 2013 vintage, during Rob’s tenure as estate director at Newton Vineyard in Napa Valley. Now firmly ensconced back in the Swan Valley, Rob and Gen’s Chenin Blanc and Tempranillo-dominant red blend sit at the heart of a bright future for this brilliant duo. And their Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon, from their beautiful Calgardup Vineyard, is a new milestone for this region.

Rob was one of the crop of hotshots at Hardys during the reign of Stephen Pannell, before Rob himself took the mantle of senior winemaker at Hardys Tintara. From there he established a name for himself as one of the great talents of his generation during his time at the helm of Cape Mentelle – eventually being handpicked to radically ramp up quality at LVMH’s Napa estate Newton Vineyard. Genevieve, meanwhile, worked in South Africa, France, California and South Australia prior to moving to Margaret River in 2007 in the role of winemaker for Howard Park. The two of them kicked off their homecoming dream, Corymbia, with the 2013 vintage and the rest as they say is history!

About this wine from the winemakers: “2026 will be remembered as one of the Swan Valley’s standout vintages. A wet winter replenished soil moisture, followed by a mild spring that encouraged balanced vine growth. With minimal bird pressure and a comparatively mild summer, the season unfolded with remarkable ease. The result is a collection of wines that reflect the calm confidence of the vintage—pure, poised and quietly expressive. It may even rival the celebrated 2023 vintage.

“This single-vineyard Chenin Blanc honours Rob’s late father, former Australian Test cricketer Tony “Rocket” Mann. Originally planted 34 years ago on what was once a currant vineyard, the site is now dry-grown and organically farmed by us. Certified organic since 2022, the vineyard consistently produces fruit with exceptional purity and site expression.

“Hand-picked fruit was whole-bunch pressed and naturally fermented. A portion was fermented and matured in seasoned French oak demi-muids for four months before blending and bottling, adding subtle texture and complexity while preserving freshness and vineyard character.

“A finely detailed Swan Valley Chenin Blanc showing aromas of preserved lemon, white nectarine, nashi pear and chamomile. The palate is textured, waxy and saline, underpinned by crystalline acidity and chalky phenolics that drive a long, precise finish. Delicious in its youth for its freshness and energy, with the structure to reward several years of cellaring.” – Rob and Gen Mann, Corymbia

94+ points, Gary Walsh, The Wine FrontThis is a fresh and lively release. Green pear, white peach, cut fennel, chamomile. It’s bright and a bit juicy, has a little lemon zest in with crunchy pear, a light flinty and chalky feel to texture, finishes long with a sort of saline cucumber coolness. A lovely wine in 2026.”
