Description
Established in 1998, Bellvale Wine is a family-owned business run by winemaker, viticulturalist (and former pilot) John Ellis. Dry grown low yielding vineyard situated in the lush Tarwin River valley of South Gippsland, one of Australia’s best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producing regions. Many International awards and accolades including the coveted James Halliday Wine Companion 5 Star Winery Rating. John’s fanatical hands-on, attention to detail approach to winemaking salutes his obsession with traditional methods used by premium winemakers in Burgundy, where he honed his craft over many years.
From the winemaker: “The wine is well balanced with very good length, some complexity and a fully defined palate. There are subtle, subdued flavours with deliciously fresh acidity. Due to the warm and very dry end to the season there’s more weight to this one, resulting in the best Pinot Grigio out of Bellvale in several years.”
100% Estate grown fruit this brims with apple, pear and twist of refreshing citrus… Lovely depth of fruit, balance and cool climate zing.
