Description
Eden Valley producer Domenic Torzi with Italian heritage has produced a special white here. Despite trebbiano being the second most widely planted white grape in the world. this is the first time i have seen it grown in australia.
Fruit sourced from 100 yr old Trebbiano bush vines in the Barossa. Beautifully delicate and yet complex dry white with intense custard apple. lemon and grapefruit. florals. cashew nuts and hints of brioche.
Mouthfilling richness and zing on the palate…Great food wine enjoy this over lunch…Don ‘t serve it too cold / double decant to unleash the layers of flavour.
Campbell Mattinson from the Wine Front says “I ™m a fan of varietal trebbiano. This one was hand picked from vines that were planted in the Barossa Valley way back in 1905. It ™s fermented partly wild..a brief three week stint in oak…three months on lees….The end result is a joy to drink…it tastes of lemons and nuts. shells and sourdough. It has texture and length and interest. it ™s a truly bonza wine. For all its easy going complexity I particularly love the way it oozes through the finish. As a quaffing white “ it ™s close to perfect. ”
