Kym Teusner was crowned king by Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine as Young Winemaker of the Year in 07. He has produced extraordinary wine here!! Often referred to as the big brother to their un oaked Joshua GMS. the 2011 Avatar release has a little more Shiraz in the blend than other recent vintages and Teusner consider it their stand out wine of the vintage. Grenache still dominates the blend with spice and red fruited lift and Mataro adds earthiness and some resounding bass notes. This classic Rhone blend consists of Grenache 49%. Shiraz 30% Mataro 21% the grenache and mataro fruit is all sourced from low yielding dry grown 70 to 85 yr old vineyards.
