Description
Stella Bella sources their fruit from central and southern Margaret River in particular the cooler site of Karriedale. widely regarded as the premium area in “Margs ” for semillon and sauvignon blanc. Winemakers. Janice Macdonald and Stuart Pym produce wines of incredible finesse and structure and like their wine labels suggest have a great sense of irreverance. adventure and fun with wine. They have produced a winner here with their second label. Derived from an ancient nautical term. “skuttlebutt ” was the vessel of water at which people would gather to chat and from which the grapevine of social gossip did sprout. As such. the chance to catch up with friends over a glass of good wine is the perfect occasion for Skuttlebutt! Quality at this price does not come along often.
Newly released 2012 vintage is yet to reviewed… but we expect high praise to come for this delicous white. Previous vintages have always rated 90 points and above for the past 11 years! Juicy tropical fruit bound together by citrusy freshnesss and zing. Think gooseberry. passionfruit. lemon and lime blossom. white peach and nectarines on the palate. finishing with lingering grapefruit acidity. Consistent winner for quality and value.
