John Horgan certainly knows fine wine. After beginning his career in the west as co owner with his brother Dennis Horgan of Leeuwin Estate. he was also a pioneer in the Pemberton region. Hard work is paying off as they were awarded Halliday ™s prestigious 5 star winery rating.
2005 was a great season in WA ‘s Pemberton producing a fine blend ( 58% cabernet sauvignon. 16% merlot. 16% malbec. 10% cabernet franc ). This red is drinking beautifully
(medium to full bodied) almost reminds me a little of bordeaux with its more ish savoury characters
Bordeaux overtones sweet red berry the tannins are gossamer fine. the finish long. Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Petit Verdot/Cabernet Franc. Rating 94 HALLIDAY
