Description
Owner and winemaker Giovanni Davaz ‘s picturesque vineyard (50 years old) lies in the heart of Chianti Classico in the hills south of Florence. Natural farming and low yields of his sangiovese create wines with incredible power. dark. brooding colours. intense extraction of fruit and formidable. yet well integrated tannins. What is fascinating about the wines of Poggio al Sole is despite the concentration and power. the aromas are wonderfully complex and delicate.Only physiologically ripened fruit and slow vinification allow such highly evolved aromas to accompany such power.
This Chianti Classico is 100% sangiovese with aromas of black raspberry. cherry with rustic meaty. leathery oak. Gorgeous plush fruit on the palate followed by long finish with bright acidity. Nothing else to say to say but Allelulia !
