A blend of 85% Sangiovese. 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet. aged for 1 year on oak (80% Slavonian barrels. 20% in barrique). The colour is dark ruby with a bouquet of leather. earth. herbs. black cherries. liquorice and plums. The palate is medium bodied. round. spicy. elegant. attractively fruity and extremely versatile with any fare from pasta to meat. fowl and cheese. The 2009 Monte Antico. a Sangiovese/Merlot/Cabernet blend. is fabulous. Juicy. rich and expressive. the 2009 boasts gorgeous depth and radiance.
