Prized fruit for this wine was sourced from the Wendouree vineyard (mostly from the newer 1911 plantings “ now 102 years old!).
Stephen George said Wendouree vineyard is an incredible piece of dirt even in severe drought the vineyard is green when the rest of Clare is irrigating madly “ the dry grown vineyard roots have burrowed down so deep over the years to find water and all the trace elements needed This impeccable source indicates the wines ™ promise ..the 01 Galah table wines are drinking magnificently now (2001 was a season that delivered more approachable wines..2002 on the other hand was very structured and will easily cellar for another 15 years Stephen George calls this his favourite of the Galah Wines.
Elegance and persistence of cassis and eucalyptus aromas. with leather and tobacco leaf characters now developing over an under layer of more ish soft tannin and acidity. No need to decant this just enjoy this beauty with hearty meat dishes. Limited. 13.5% alc under cork
