The Domaine stopped using herbicides in 2001 and is now fully organic. utilising primarily biodynamic methods. The preference is to pick late (compared to many of his peers in Rully “.. to let the grapes attain full maturity so as to yield wines that are taut. attractive. with a pleasing minerality and the proper touch of acidity.
A vintage like 2009 in the hands of Vincent Dureuil. who covets balance and precision. makes for absolutely thrilling wines. [Importers notes]
‘Rabource is considered the ‘Montrachet ‘ of Rully. It is a very steep site. west of the village above the highly regarded Cloux vineyards. just below the woods. The soils here are mostly composed of white. limestone rich clay. It is always the first vineyard to be ripe and can produce a wine of great depth and power. This is certainly what we have here a wine with Grand Cru density and intensity along with a pleasing touch of matchsticky complexity on the nose. The flavours are clear cut and fresh with all kinds of mouth watering citrus and grapefruits manifesting before a long. sappy close. As this comes from purchased fruit. it is cheaper than the Domaine ‘s village wine and therefore represents extraordinary value.
