You ‘ll find great purity of fruit here and graceful elegance. rather than muscle and power. They model Pinot Noir. burgundy style. to perfection. Andrew Jefford. The New France
Domaine de l ‘Arlot. with its hillside vineyards and 19th century gardens. has what many consider to be the most beautiful estate in Burgundy. Since the late 1980 ™s this producer has also been responsible for some of the prettiest red Burgundies going around. The perfume. silkiness and flickering clarity of these wines is born of the l ‘Arlot vineyards. and the Prémeaux terroir in general. Prémeaux has always stood apart from the rest of Nuits Saint Georges and made wines that are altogether more fine and elegant than those produced further North. around the town itself. L ‘Arlot brings the finesse of this terroir to the fore with their approach to wine growing and elevage. Biodynamic farming. perfect. well sorted fruit. gentle extraction and whole bunch use all play their part. Every step from vineyard to bottle is tailored to underline purity and finesse.
Le Petit Arlot comes from the most recently planted vines in the famous Clos l ™Arlot. The vines average 12 years old and. thanks to their easterly exposure. are some of the first l ™Arlot vines to ripen. The personality of the site is clearly apparent. from the wine ™s seductive perfume through to its wonderfully tapered finish and clear mineral energy.
Outstanding. A ripe and agreeably fresh red and blue pinot fruit nose is cut with distinct floral notes that precede supple. round and almost delicate flavors that possess good balance and vibrancy on the reserved. long and understated finish that displays very mild rusticity. This is a lovely effort with solid mid palate stuffing and overall persistence. Worth your attention.

The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Cuvee Le Petit Arlot comes across as deep and muscular. Layers of dark cherry and plum lead to menthol. spices and minerals blossoming on the palate as the wine shows off its pedigree and class. A voluptuous. creamy finish. supported by insistent minerality. leaves a lasting impression. The Petit Arlot is made from young vines in the Clos de l ™Arlot.
