Maison Chanson Père et Fils is one of the oldest ˜houses ™ of Beaune (founded in 1750) and also one of the larger owners of Beaune premier cru vineyard. Bollinger took over in 1999 and this saw Chanson take on a new lease of life.

A new appellation created in 1998 comprising the two villages Viré and Clessé in the heart of the Mâcon winegrowing region. Unique “terroir ” on slopes facing South East. In Viré. the soil is chalky with large layers of clay. In Clessé. the soil structure is slightly different with a combination of chalk and clay mixed with liasic marls combined with oyster fossils which convey to the wine a specific minerality.
