Description
Chateau Lamothe Vincent lies in the gentle rolling hills of the pretty Entre Deux Mers region of Bordeaux. Inspired by their namesake St Vincent (patron saint of wine growers). 4 generations of the Vincent family have been producing wine since 1873 and today the estate is run by brothers Christophe and Fabien.
Jancis Robinson said of Lamothe Vincent .. “This is where the real value in Bordeaux lies. in the little. best tended corners. run with dedication …excellent value. ”
Fabien Vincent has used his New Zealand experience to produce an ultra modern juicy Sauvignon Blanc but with complexity and texture in spades …(a different beast to the Kiwi or Loire style) … less herbaceous. more golden than green. Partial barrel fermentation adds smokiness and flint. The Heritage label is produced from only the best parcels of fruit and is their top of the range white. Vibrant and elegant aromas/flavours of citrus. white peach. pear with depth of smokey. mineral and almost salty exotic/grapefruit flavours. Terrific line and length.. Tasted this last week ( Dec 14) and this is drinking magnificently… this is the ultimate lunch wine. This is the chardonnay lovers sauvignon ! Gold Medal at the Bordeaux Wine Competition 2011.
