The Catena family arrived in Argentina. ( the promised land ) in 1898 and the family has had 4 generations of winemaking. Nicolas Catena is regarded as the godfather of modern winemaking ( experimenting with clones) and in the 1980 ™s pioneered viticulture at high altitude the key making premium wine in Mendoza .
