Description
This leading Gippsland pinot noir specialist has done well here. Newly released 07 vintage has perfume delicacy and depth of flavour definitely up there with Australia & NZ ‘s best. I much preferred this in a blind tasting to Ata Rangi ‘s Crimson pinot at $38. We were bowled over by the quality of this wine for the price. You will be too!
Brilliant ruby colour. great depth. Juicy. ripe berry aromas. perfectly balanced by savoury/mineral characters. demonstrate the great potential of Leongatha Pinot Noir in an exceptional year such as 2007. At this stage. a touch of new French oak is the only hint of winemaking influence in a wine so strongly expressive of its region and the 07 vintage. Rich. ripe and supple. the palate displays bright berry fruit. a deliciously fleshy. juicy texture and great flavour persistence. Fresh acidity and ripe tannins frame the mid palate. which carries through to a long. complex finish.
