Comprised of Hunter Valley (Graveyard Vineyard) and Beechworth (North Eastern Victorian) Shiraz.

Serious pedigree here in this fine and elegant medium bodied shiraz. Comprised of declassified Graveyard Vineyard shiraz. the most revered shiraz vineyard in the Hunter and the only Hunter red featured in Langton ™s Exceptional Classification of Australian Wine (along with other greats such as Henschke Hill of Grace. Grange!).

The Graveyard vineyard (planted back in 1978 and first released in 1985) is on a gentle sloping. east facing cooler site (heavy clay soil. low yielding) with extraordinary concentration of flavour juicy blackberry and savoury earthy flavours in that distinctive Brokenwood red style. It has to be a truely exceptional vintage for it to wear the Graveyard moniker. Frustrating for their accountants as no Graveyard was produced in 2010 or 2012. Their loss is our gain as all this premium fruit went into producing this extraordinary shiraz.

The addition of fruit from Brokenwood ™s 46 hectare Beechworth vineyard (Victoria ™s prime wine country blessed with granite and schist rock soils) imparts further aromatics. juicy high notes of red fruits. licquorice and tar making this a beguiling and elegant shiraz with long. fine grained tannins….
