Brendan ‘s makes wines of great character and finesse not overblown and alcoholic and because of his fanaticism in the vineyard his wines give a true sense of terroir and the individual site. making each wine unique. BK wines are highly sought and sell out upon release. 2013 Awarded one of the Top Ten Dark Horses in the James Halliday Wine Companion and 5 Stars.
BK intentionally calls his Shiraz. Syrah as a nod to his love of the Rhone and Cornas and to avoid any preconceived idea that this is a typical big jammy Aussie red .. this is elegant. fresh and refined.
The colour of the wine is a deep red with youthful purple hues towards the rim. the nose is showing some meatiness with darker fruits of blackberry and spice and hints of savoury oak. The palate reveals vibrancy and length of dark cherry and blackberry fruit with a savoury hints of cured meats and pepper. Ripe tannins to finish are ripe. fine grained and more ish. Do not hesitate this is cool climate shiraz at its best!
