Ashton Hills has the oldest pinot vineyard in the Adelaide Hills. Stephen George wears 3 winemakers ™ hats. one for his Ashton Hills wines coming from his estate vineyard high in the Adelaide Hills. one for Galah Wines and the other for the iconic Wendouree in Clare. He refers to his dry grown Piccadilly Valley vineyard planted back in 1982 as the Burgundy of the Adelaide Hills . Accordingly. his Chardonnay flourishes and the terrific 2009 vintage has produced a cracker! Very tight. burgundian in style with wonderful length one for the cellar or decant this wine.

Made from 26 yr old dry grown. low yielding grapes with fermentation in new and seasoned French oak using natural and cultured yeasts. followed by the avoidance of malolactic fermentation. stirring of and maturation on yeast lees.
