From the winemaker:
For those who know our usual style of Rosé the 2016 is definitely ready to go. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and “made from the ground up”, the fruit is soaked for several hours on skins before being gently pressed and the resultant juice fermented to dryness. The front runner is bright red fruits – strawberry, red currant, cherry & boysenberry notes. It is extremely textural with mineral overtones and acid balance refreshing the finish.
91 points, Jane Faulkner for James Halliday Wine Companion “Pale cherry pink with wafts of rose petals, potpourri, musk with sweet cherries and currants, lemony acidity with some texture and a lick of sweetness rounding out the palate. Lithe and refreshing.”
92 points, Mike Bennie, The Wine Front “Pretty, floral-meets-raspberry scents. Kind of simple in perfume, but enticing. Feels like a riesling lovers rose. Racy, squeaky-textured, barely there red fruits, citrussy acidity underlying. All of it at an even, brisk pace. It’s very refreshing and shows plenty of lean, appealing red fruit character. Tasty stuff.”
