Description
Chateau du Rouet lies at the foot of Esterel mountain (at 560 metres), near Antibes and Cannes, and make some of the finest wines in Provence. Enormous care and attention to detail in viticulture and winemaking. Vines were first planted back in the 18th Century prior to the French revolution, Rouët was owned by the Marquis de Villeneuve, who supplied Louis XVI’s court with his wines. Since then the property has remained in the same family. But it wasn’t till 1927 after a forest fire that the current vineyards were laid, planted in strips to act as firebreaks up to 1km in length.
This brilliant mouth-watering provencal rose is right on form (60% Grenache, 40% Syrah). Delicious stuff, do not miss out on a case of this!
Josh Reynolds, Vinous Media “Pale, bright orange. Fresh red berries, orange and pungent flowers on the fragrant nose. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering lively strawberry, orange pith and lavender flavors that pick up a subtle herbal nuance on the back half. Finishes silky and taut, with good cling and an touch of bitter citrus zest.”
Wine Spectator “An elegant, focused style, with a mineral hint through the middle and a creamy feel along the edges of a mix of white cherry, peach, herb and sandalwood flavors. Nicely done. Drink now.”
