Description
Andrew Marks is making some of the finest wines in the land from the Upper Yarra with his family’s iconic vineyard GemBrook Hill. Wanderer Wines is his side project that screams of precise and finely detailed execution made with a sensitivity, care and obsessiveness that have quickly amassed a cult-like following. Only small amounts of each wine are made every year striving to deliver individual wines of flavour, character and balance. These upper Yarra Valley sites offer fruit from low yielding single vineyards with minimal wine making techniques to preserve the vineyard’s natural goodness, finesse and more-ishness. Don’t miss these.

94+ points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front “In the context that this is always made in the light-but-insistent style, this particular release is something of a powerhouse. It’s a powerhouse of structure, spice and intent, rather than in weight or intensity of fruit. It smells friendly enough, all berried and floral, but the palate is wild with herbs, twigs, tannin, acid, cranberry and red cherry flavour. It feels and tastes serious in a dry, tannic, savoury way, and it has nutty, smoky length aplenty. You have to like the style. of course, but if you do this is pretty damn beautiful, with the charm to go with it.”
