Established is 1831, Bodega Colome is one of Argentina’s most esteemed and oldest producers located in Argentina’s region of Salta in the Upper Calchaqui Valley, home to the highest vineyards in the world at altitudes of 2300-3311 metres.  Semi arid climate with warm days and cold nights is ideal for viticulture. Intense UV light with altitude results in thick grape skin development to protect against sun.

100% biodynamic vineyard from high in the mountains of Salta – 2017 was an excellent growing season with no adverse weather effects producing pristine fruit. This special batch “tinto’  is made from tannat (a highly tannic red grape with a long history in Madiran, in the south west of France) sourced from the Finca La Brava vineyard in Cafayate at 1700 metres altitude. Maturation in French oak. Whilst this is rich & robust tinto it is perfectly balanced by fine grained tannins, a long finish and mountain freshness. No doubt some bottle age has tamed the fine tannins in this delicious top shelf vino.  Fire up the barbecue.. Ole !
