Rhys had a fantastic field trip in January to Mendoza and Cafayate, Argentina where he caught up with Jed winemaker, Tom Egan. Tom is very excited about their new Jed Limited Release Malbec 2008, which The Vine Press is now stocking. This flagship wine comprises handpicked fruit sourced from low yielding vines from the higher/cooler sights of Uco Valley -provided complex flavours and fine ripe tannins. Rigorous fruit selection has also contributed power and complexity to this powerful full bodied red with brooding rich dark berry fruit, tar, aniseed and hint of floral fragrance. Great concentration & length, fine grained tannins, beautifully integrated french oak and balance. Decant this to reveal layers of flavour. This red is a treat -bring on the roast!
