We have been enjoying the newly released Groom Sauvignon Blanc 2008. Made a few enquiries about the Marschall Groom vineyard. 100% estate grown fruit is sourced from their 20 acre vineyard in Lenswood, Adelaide Hills. Sloping vineyard means they can pick and blend fruit sourced from the lowest section ( zesty & herbaceous characters) with fruit form the upper section of the vineyard which produces riper richer tropical fruit characters.
Dan Berger, (well known wine writer (Los Angeles Times and others) in the USA ) reviewed the Groom Sauvignon Blanc 2008 as exceptional. See his review below.:
“2008 Groom Sauvignon Blanc, Adelaide Hills : Fresh, vibrant fruit with hints of passion fruit,
melons and spice. From a complex vineyard that Groom planted in the coolest region of Adelaide Hills just to make a wine like this. An absurd bargain. Drink now or age a decade. By Dan Berger published Dan Berger’s Vintage Experiences 30 October 2008 Issue 37
