Description

“Pierre Chermette has become one of the beacons of Beaujolais quality..”  David Schildknecht, Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, August 2008
The Chermette family were the first to embrace sustainable agricultural practices in Beaujolais.  Cru beaujolais is a remarkable medium bodied red made from the Gamay grape, fragrant and juicy with succulence, depth and savoury length. Vissoux is the top rated Beaujolais producer in leading french guide, “Les Meilleurs Vins de France”.

Moulin a Vent is the Cru renowned for brooding, fuller bodied reds with power – more reminiscent of the northern Rhone. This is Vissoux top cuvee – it’s concentrated, profound and deep with more-ish ripples of smokey tariness.  Fruit sourced from 3 plots: Rochegres for finesse; Roche Noire for fruit and Rochelle for power.  After a couple of years in bottle this is wildly attractive medium bodied rouge. This top shelf bargain will not dissappoint !

Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate got excited: “..  dark cherry and cassis with saliva-inducing salinity, pan-scraping meatiness, and fine-grained tannic chew in an expansive yet sharply-defined, tenaciously persistent, downright vibratory palate performance. This will intrigue and invigorate for at least half a dozen years.” 91 points, The Wine Advocate.
