Description

Ridiculous pedigree for the price & remarkable story here for bourgogne from much hyped and accoladed 2009 vintage.

Hand harvested and sorted ( unheard of for bourgogne level being sorted) organic fruit from 40 yr old vines (hence vielles vignes) Chorey lès Beaune. Made by François Labet (pioneer in natural viticulture and the largest vineyard holder in Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot) at Château de la Tour. Cold soaked for 1 week. 50% whole bunches retained. open topped fermentation (wild yeasts). 12 mths barrel maturation ( 10% new). bottled under stelvin without filtration.

This medium bodied red has the goods with a chewy core and plenty of complex fruit ( 50% whole bunch) savoury rather than overtly sweet with an inky depth and superb length. This is a baby and needs some time in cellar… Decant. RRP $35
