He refers to his dry grown Piccadilly Valley vineyard planted back in 1982 as the Burgundy of the Adelaide Hills . Ashton Hills has received many awards including the coveted 5 Red star rating from James Halliday.
A full bodied. yet elegant Shiraz from the Burra Burra District in South Australia ( Fruit sourced from Spencer George ‘s vineyard Stephen ‘s father) . which lies east of the Clare Valley in the Mount Lofty Ranges. Intensely dark purple in colour. Impressive nose of violets. spice. raspberry and black cherry. Mouth filling palate with attractive concentrated blackberry and raspberry flavours intermingled with spice. cedar. liquorice and leather. Elegant in style due to French oak and cold nights during the growing season in this otherwise hot. dry environment.
