Ashton Hills Reserve Pinot Noir 2012 latest release has got Campbell Mattinson from The Wine Front excited .. “Straight up, immediately on opening, this offers superb pinot noir drinking. I can see why Ashton Hills pinot has long since rung my bells. It’s long and sinewy and yet flush with gorgeously ripe, seductive, fruit and oak flavour. Black pepper, cherry plum, swish cedary notes, cranberry and rose petals. Clovey, gum-leaf notes also play a role, as does a slight kick of alcohol on the finish. For pure, meaty/spicy, concentrated power, this wine takes some beating.“ 95 points.
