Framingham in Marlborough New Zealand like to do things differently and are determined to stand out in a “sea of blandness”.   They use small batch winemaking from different areas of the vineyard to produce depth of flavour and texture in their limited production wines.   True hands-on, low impact winemaking and a strong environmental approach in their accredited sustainable vineyard has given us wines of great complexity, balance and accolades galore.

High praise from international wine guru Jancis Robinson ..  “The finest wine I have ever tasted from Marlborough.”  And indeed she may well be right.  This is an exceptional Savvie from a fantastic vintage …  classic Marlborough style with a tight mineral edge.  Wonderful aromas of gooseberry, herbs and passionfruit with a touch of barrel fermentation to enhance the texture and mouthfeel with lively acid and mineral finish.

18/20, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews, NZ  ‘Bright pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, very light on the rim. The nose is tightly bound and slender in proportion, quite elegant, but with good intensity and detail, showing fresh gooseberry fruit with nuances of passionfruit, tropical fruits, unfolding herbal notes , white florals and thirst-quenching minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has elegantly concentrated flavours of ripe gooseberry fruit entwined with nuances of passionfruit and herbs, along with florals and minerals. The palate is mouthwatering with crisp, zesty acidity, and the wine flows along a very fine, phenolic-threaded line leading to a tight, lingering, dry, thirst-quenching finish. This is an elegant but concentrated and intense Sauvignon Blanc with fine gooseberry and tropical fruit flavours with floral and mineral detail. ”
