Description
The Monte Tondo vineyard can be found nestling in the gentle hills of Soave just a few kilometres from Verona on a slope overlooking the valley. Today it is 4th generation brother and sister team, Luca and Marta Magnabosco, who carry on their family’s passion for the land and its wines.
Twenty-five hectares of vineyards are situated on the best plots that the Soave zone can offer on predominately volcanic soils: Monte Tenda, Monte Foscarino and Monte Tondo. The wines produced, from 100% Garganaga, are intensely perfumed with an unmistakable Soave character somewhere between florals and fruitiness.
About this wine from the winemaker: “Monte Tondo Classico area: calcareous soil of medium depth suitable for producting fullbodied wines with mineral aromas. Cold maceration for more than 12 hours depending on the ripeness of the fruit. Soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of between 18-20°C with native yeasts. Yellow with gold highlights and green hues. Floral bouquet laced with scents of exotic fruit, almonds, hazelnuts and mineral aromas. Full bodied with a long finish; balanced and harmonious on the palate.”
