From the winery about this wine: “Sourced exclusively from our Coldstream vineyard, the fruit was harvested at the exact moment when ripeness and natural acidity met in perfect harmony. Fermented and matured entirely in French oak barriques — all seasoned one to two years — the wine developed texture and depth without overt oak influence. Time on lees added creaminess and complexity, while the vineyard’s natural brightness kept the palate fresh and poised. The result is a Chardonnay of quiet refinement and remarkable balance — single-vineyard quality made beautifully approachable.
“It’s vibrant and easygoing, filled with citrus and stone fruit characters, and just a gentle touch of oak to round it out. Fresh and lively when well-chilled, or a little richer and more expressive as it warms in the glass – however you enjoy it, it’s always approachable. Perfect for grilled chicken, creamy pastas, or simply a wedge of soft cheese with friends. This is relaxed Yarra Valley Chardonnay at its best – authentic, unpretentious, and perfect for relaxed afternoons and easy entertaining.”
Multi-clone, wild-fermented in French oak, 10 months maturation. Classic chardonnay aromas of white peach and citrus blend lead the way on the nose, supported by nuances of cashew nuts. The tight structure gives a fresh tingling acid presence and the fruit flavours return at the finish. A very good example that has the precision expected from a strong vintage, and will grow in leaps and bounds through to the end of this decade.
Review for 2024 – 90 points, Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion “Like its predecessor, this well-made and well-priced wine bats above average. Aromas of ripe, white peach and light, grilled nuts precede the gently textured and balanced palate. Drink now and over the next couple of years.”
